Miss Melika Ayurveda Bio

Ayurvedic Practitioner and Body Therapist, Certified Yoga Teacher, Herbal Formulator, Intuitive Healer

Melika Baccouche is a dedicated Ayurvedic Practitioner and Body Therapist who combines traditional Vedic knowledge with intuitive care to support deep healing across body, mind, and spirit. Her work honors the individual as a whole being; each session is guided by ancient principles and tailored with intention to restore balance, vitality, and clarity.

She began her path as a certified Hatha Yoga teacher in 2006 under the Sivananda Yoga International lineage. Raised in a yogic household influenced by her father’s devotion to Sri Chinmoy, she was introduced early to the practice of daily discipline, meditation, and the importance of attuning to one’s inner rhythm.

In 2010, she traveled through India in a personal pilgrimage to deepen her yoga studies; it was there that she encountered Ayurvedic Medicine and experienced it as a living science of truth and harmony.

In 2012, Melika began her formal studies with Dr. Anita Sharma, a sixth-generation Ayurvedic doctor, and completed her Ayurvedic Practitioner training with a focus on classical diagnostics, pulse reading, doshic diagnosis, chakra therapy, Vastu, and the integration of spiritual Ayurveda.

Her Ayurvedic Facial and Head Massage training was centered on marma therapy, face mapping, and understanding the skin as a mirror of internal health. She learned how to treat clients with a wide range of conditions including facial paralysis, hormonal imbalance, inflammation, and pregnancy. The teaching emphasized that the skin and facial tissues reveal the deeper condition of the body and mind; healing the skin includes herbs, diet, oil therapies, and daily rituals that support systemic harmony.

Melika formulates her own therapeutic oils and natural skin treatments through her herbal brand: MissMelikaAyurveda. She is certified in natural cosmetic formulation and has studied medicinal plants from around the world. Throughout her Ayurvedic training, the use of plant medicine was always taught as multidimensional: applied both internally and externally, used through food, ritual, and touch. She continues to apply this wisdom in her therapeutic work, supporting her clients with customized, constitutionally-aligned herbal care and diet.

She is also certified in:

  • Sakum Reiki Level 1 and 2

  • Holy Fire Reiki Level 1 and 2

  • Sound healing using crystal chakra bowls and sacred mantra

  • Ayurvedic Body Therapies, including abhyanga, marma therapy, and chakra balancing massage

Reiki has enhanced her intuitive sensitivity, allowing her to listen beyond words and respond to the subtle energetic needs of the client. Her body therapies are deeply grounding, restoring nervous system balance and awakening the body's natural intelligence.

Melika has led Ayurvedic workshops and yoga events internationally, with collaborations including Laluna Yoga, ShantiYogi, BendCity Yoga, and various wellness retreats. She has worked with the University of Moncton, where she supported the Work of Heart Cardiac Wellness Program and taught Psychology and Kinesiology students about the Ayurvedic view of mind-body connection and emotional integration according to the organs and layers of the body.

She continued her learning by traveling to Mexico and began learning Shamanic wisdom by integrating herself with this ancient knowledge; understanding that everything is one and the same, only spoken in different languages.

She deeply believes everyone is deserving of health in mind, body, and spirit.
